This beautiful modernised cottage has been awarded 4 Star by Visit England, for its level of quality, comfort and cleanliness.

The cottage overlooks the beautiful Derbyshire countryside, with views that include Berresford and Woolfcote Dales. Haven for walking and cycling, close to the Manifold Valley and Tissington Trail, along with a cycle hire at Hartington. There are countless scenic walks by rivers, hills and dales to explore, or why not sit back and relax and take in the stunning views, from this perfect location.

Bank Top Lodge self-catering cottage offers the peace and quiet of the countryside and as well as being within easy reach of a vast range of activities and places of interest to suit everyone's taste. From the industrial heritage of the 'Derwent Valley Mills', to the historic houses and gardens of Chatsworth house, Lyme Park and gardens of Haddon Hall. Alton Towers is a fun packed day out for the thrill seekers – approximately 25 minutes away from the cottage. There is also Peak Wildlife Park close by for the animal lovers and a fun day out with the family, plus many more exciting and interesting days out.

If you are fancy a spot of shopping, the towns of Leek, Ashbourne, Bakewell and Buxton are a short journey away and provide all the facilities you need, as well as interesting and unique shops.

The market town of Leek which is known as the "Queen of the Moorlands" is a former textile town. It is great for mooching around the independent shops and markets, which are run on a Wednesday as well as the "Totally Locally" Market which is held on the first Sunday of every month. There is also plenty of cafes and tearooms to grab a bite of something tasty to eat!

Ashbourne is home to the famous historic Shrovetide football match, which is held annually each strove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday. Ashbourne offers quality food and drink establishments.

Be sure to try the famous Bakewell puddings when visiting Bakewell.

The spa town of Buxton, which is home to Buxton Water, offers a theatre visit to the Buxton Opera House, as well parks and gardens.

There are also many other interesting towns and villages close to the area, such as Castleton, Matlock and Matlock Bath, which are all well worth a visit.

Bank Top Lodge. Take A515 from Ashbourne or A515 from Buxton, in both instances approx. 11 miles. follow the B5054 to Hartington, pass through Hartington on B5054 for 1 mile, turn right signed Sheen, proceed to top of hill. At top, road bears left and levels out. Bank Top is on the right. Nearest railway is Buxton. Bank Top Lodge is 1 mile from nearest bus route in Hartington.
